Water Quality Guidelines have been published for various environmental values - e.g. Recreation,
Drinking Water, Irrigation. In some cases there are more than one list for a Guideline Value,
at least for the process of getting the Guidelines online. For example, for Irrigation there
are three lists, one for corrosion, fouling (general water uses) and one for irrigation water
for crops (applied water). For Physico-Chemical stressors there are separate guidelines for 5
regions (including New Zealand) and for 7 ecosystems types (see below). Five summary web pages
one for each Region) are also been provided that includes all the EV lists on a single page to
allow easy comparisons. There are a total of 28 separate lists for the various Environmental
Values. A separate web page is provided for each of these Environmental Value lists. The 'Main'
navigation page provides an entry point for finding the guideline values you require for the EV
list that you nominate. The next page provides information about the lists and the guideline categories.
Note: Most of the guidelines apply everywhere, but there are separate physico-chemical guideline lists
for 5 regions (including New Zealand) and for 7 ecosystem types (shown above). You must nominate your region and ecosystem type to ensure you get the correct values when comparing guideline values.
