Water Quality Guidelines Online - Introduction
The Main Select and Search Page
This page has been designed to allow users to quickly search for a stressor, toxicant or contaminant and to navigate to the set of guidelines that they require for it. There are two options:
    1. Choose a name and an Environmental Value List;
    2. Simply select an Environmental Value List, by-passing the name nomination
In both cases the user will be required to nominate a Region and Ecosystem Type for ecological protection.
For Physical & Chemical Stressors separate guidelines are available for four major regions in Australia:
    South-East Australia - includes all of NSW, ACT, Victoria and Tasmania, and non-tropical areas of Queensland.
    Tropical Australia- Includes areas in QLD, NT and WA north of the tropic of Capricorn.
    South-West Australia - includes non-tropical areas of WA.
    South-Central Australia - includes all of SA and non-tropical areas of NT.
    New Zealand
In each Region separate guidelines are available for three groups of ecosystems:
Regions
Ecosystems
1. Upland and Lowland Rivers
2. Lakes, Reservoirs and Wetlands;
3. Estuaries and Marine
You must select a Region and Ecosystem to proceed. Although most guidelines apply nationally, this nomination will ensure that the correct Physical & Chemical stressor guideline values are displayed for comparisons.
